Celtra is expanding the Data Insights team in Ljubljana, Slovenia with a Data Scientist, who will play a dual role within our data insights team. You will work on advanced analytics solutions (as Data Scientist) and on analyzing data to provide actionable insights while also building predictive models (as Data Analyst). This hybrid role is perfect for someone with strong analytical skills and a passion for applying data science methodologies to solve complex business challenges.

About the role

You will have access to billions of data points and the chance to partner with senior leaders within our organization as well as Engineers and other Data Insights colleagues and shape the next generation of our digital advertising software. 

You will be moving fast with the company strategy and become the advisor on the core Celtra product, involving regular communication with executives and managers while offering the opportunity to directly impact the product strategy and to further scale your responsibilities. 

Key Responsibilities:

Data Science

  • Build and deploy predictive models using machine learning techniques to address business challenges.
  • Apply statistical modeling and advanced analytics to uncover insights and forecast business outcomes.
  • Shape meaningful research questions on product value & usage, and extract actionable insights from diverse sources of data.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data pipelines and transformations meet data science needs.
  • Document and present results of data science projects in a clear and actionable manner to non-technical stakeholders.

Data Analysis 

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to provide insights into business processes, and identify and fulfill the analytical needs of different organizational units. 
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
  • Support ad hoc analysis requests to address immediate business questions and inform decision-making.
  • Deliver insightful analysis with convincing, actionable recommendations that will impact the product quickly.
  • Define the evolution of our analytical strategy on performance analytics, key strategic projects and data products through the identification of high value-added opportunities that will unlock business potential.

Who are you?

  • Degree in data or computer science, business, management, statistics, engineering, or another related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a data analytics or data science role.
  • Experience using statistical computer languages (Python, R, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets, preferably in a business environment.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills are required with querying and transforming data in a data warehouse environment (e.g., Snowflake).
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworksStrong acumen for understanding business and going beyond the obvious.
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, including visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, taking initiative.
  • Proficiency in decision-making.
  • Can work in a fast-changing and challenging environment, team player, highly motivated, proactive, pragmatic, and with a can-do attitude.
